Colts Head Coach - recruitment

Colts Head Coach - recruitment

Caitlin Gould22 Jun 2023 - 13:59

Could you be the new Colts Head Coach?

Dunfermline RFC is a vibrant community club, with a thriving youth section which feeds in to our senior teams – currently a Mens 1XV which has been promoted into the National Leagues, a 2XV in the Caledonia Regional Leagues, and a Womens XV also competing in the Caledonia Regional Leagues.

Our Colts (U18) boys squad competes in the National Conferences and National and Regional Cup competitions, and provides the final stage of our youth development programme prior to the transition into senior rugby.

We are looking to appoint a Head Coach for the Colts squad who can provide motivation and encouragement to the players, whilst developing their technical and tactical skills. Direction and support on playing matters will be available primarily from the Senior Head Coach, and further general support will be provided by the Youth Convenor and the club committee.

Our Colts squad is generally mixed ability, ranging from relative new-starts through to players involved at regional and national age grade level. We’re looking for an engaging and enthusiastic individual who can provide a player-centric development environment to allow all to reach their potential, as a team and as individual players.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coach and lead the Colts (U18) boys team, inline with the Scottish Rugby's Technical Blueprint
• Provide leadership to the Colts coaching team
• Prepare a season development plan in conjunction with the assistant coaches
• Attend, plan and lead training sessions (usually Tuesday and Thursday evenings) and matches (Saturdays) with input from other coaches
• Prepare individual training plans, tailored for each player’s development needs
• Work with the Senior Head Coach to identify early opportunities for transition to senior rugby

Qualifications:
• Prior coaching experience, relevant to the role
• SRU Aspiring Coach (or UKCC Level 2), or the commitment to achieve this qualification
This is a volunteer role, and full support of the club will be given towards further coaching qualifications and CPD sessions.
Please submit your expression of interest to Kevin Storie, Youth Convenor, at email address: dunfermlinerugbycolts@gmail.com
