Despite a much improved performance Dunfermline again found themselves without reward. Dunfermline began brightly but were unable to capitalise on the

supply of ball the forwards won.RHC in their first visit to home territory secured a penalty in front of the posts converted by Euan Morrison. Dunfermline won a penalty from the restart and kicked deep however RHC cleared their lines from the resultant line out. They continued their momentum and winning a line out on the home 10 metre line worked the ball wide left for Anthony Reen to cross. Morrison added the conversion. Dunfermline responded in spirited fashion with Martin Punter to the fore but were repulsed. The home scrummage appeared more confident and secure on their own ball than previous outings and after winning a ruck on half way fed winger Andrew MacKenzie who side stepped two defenders to cross wide on the right. Adam Fraser’s conversion was narrowly wide. Further Dunfermline sorties saw MacKenzie again close before being bundled into touch just short of the line. Despite the Dunfermline pressure it was RHC who scored next with a catch and drive from a 5 metre line out credited to Kerr Williamson. The conversion was missed.
RHC had the better of play at the start of the second half with Shaun Burns driving over from a 5 metre scrum. Morrison added the two points. Undeterred Dunfermline worked their way back into the visitors territory and a well placed cross kick from Fraser allowed MacKenzie to cross for his second score. The home side were unable to maintain pressure on RHC however and Reen added a second try to his tally form a scissors move in the centre. Morrison converted. Some spirited play from Dunfermline threatened the visitors line however their defence held firm. Indeed RHC increased their lead with good driving forward play setting up Murray Hanning for a try under the posts. Morrison converted. Dunfermline suffered further insult when Fraser Thomson ran in from deep as play broke down on half way. Paul Suiter added the conversion. Dunfermline continued to take play to their visitors and after good lead up work by Andrew MacKenzie, Graeme Low secured the home side’s third try. Fraser converted.
