A break by Gregor McNeish on half way released Graeme Lowe to score an unconverted try. Garnock responded well and after a period of pressure forced a scrum 5 from which the forwards drove over, the conversion was missed from wide on the right. Dunfermline responded immediately as Keith Buchan made a break in midfield to feed Josh Harris who cruised in. wide on the left for a second unconverted try. Gregor McNeish extended the lead with a well struck penalty from half way. Further Dunfermline attacks kept the visitors on the back foot and a short penalty found its way to Graeme Lowe who barrelled in. Again the conversion failed.
The second half began with Dunfermline demonstrating their willingness to run the ball. An early line out win allowed Scott Swankie to make good yardage only to be held short. Immediately Dunfermline won a scrum on the right and Josh Harris entered the line from the right wing on 30 metres and scampered in to increase the home side lead and secure a bonus point for the fourth try. This appeared to increase the home side’s confidence and they began to move the ball at every opportunity with good interplay between forwards and backs. A good drive by Jocky Carr on the left released Warren Daly to score close to the posts. Gregor McNeish converted. James Lawrie added to the total shortly after in a move which involved Josh Harris twice. Dunfermline were well on top by this stage and loose play in midfield by the visitors allowed Greg Valentine to pounce on the loose ball and dash in from 22 metres. Gregor McNeish added the two points. Further interplay between backs and forwards saw Scott Swankie break out of the home 22 metres before releasing Josh Harris for his third try of the afternoon. The conversion failed. Josh Harris topped his afternoon with a fourth try off a chip ahead by Gregor McNeish after fending off two defenders. Gregor McNeish converted. Garnock strove to salvage some consolation score and made good ground following an interception and took play into the Dunfermline 22 metre area. A series of hard fought rucks saw the ball moved to centre John Miller who crossed under the posts. Ian Waterson converted.
